Translucency and lightness, limitless variety of shapes and the movement in the wind fascinate in Christiane Toewe's plant photography. The closeness to her porcelain objects becomes visible in the delicacy of the petals, in the search for light and the earth-bound stability of the plant styles. The element of air is visualized. A series of pictures is entitled "breath", other shots wander through the seasons and time also plays an important role. Time and terror, spanning the world, the clouds move on. Where once unbelievable suffering happened, the sun will shine again at some point...

"sky" - All skies are the same

The photographs of clouds are tagged with locations, Abuja, Aleppo, Ansbach, Heidingsfeld, Homs, Istanbul, Kabul, Koh Samui, London, Madrid, Mosul, Munich, Nice, Omagh, Paris, Suruç... and each with a date. The place and date testify to a terrorist attack in which people died. The red square in the lower right corner stands for this. This square, shiny, blood red, is always the same size and represents the senseless bloodshed, regardless of the number of people killed.

And the sky that day, in that place? The clouds move on, they overcome borders, language and religion. Earth-spanning.

Hope is born. "sky" work in progress since 1998, photo series

"chlorophyll"

Chlorophyll or leaf green refers to a class of natural pigments that are formed by organisms that carry out photosynthesis. This series of photos appears just as green as the plants get their green color from chlorophyll. green is life

"Innocence"

Innocently white, light, light as a feather, the peony wiggles in the spring wind.

"branched"

Blurring obscures the view

Sunbeams flash out.

What a day!

"breath"

A breeze blows across the land. The grasses move quietly in the wind.

The wind becomes visible in the titles of the photographs:

z.B.  „12:35:36“.

"poppy"

Wild and delicate and independent. Every year the seeds are spread over the fields. Bathe in RED - that's summer!
